Combination Motion and Presence Sensors

BEA’s ULTIMO is a dual technology sensor with flexible safety features for automatic sliding doors. The microwave motion field activates as people or objects approach the door. Meanwhile, three adjustable infrared curtains, each with 32 spots of detection, ensure the safety of pedestrians passing through the door opening.
ULTIMO offers advanced presence detection using ULTI-SHIELD technology, which provides uniform sensitivity across the safety curtains. ULTI-SHIELD technology allows for extended or enhanced infrared curtain positioning, ensures no loss of detection and immunities to environmental disturbances.
The combination of flexible and precise detection fields complements the door’s performance – making ULTIMO ideal for high-traffic environments in hospitals, hotels, airports or retail facilities. (10ULTIMO)

BEA’s LZR®-H100 is a LASER-based Time-of-Flight sensor designed for gate and barrier applications. This solution provides four LASER-based curtains, offering a three dimensional detection zone for accurate object detection. Its detection curtains are highly-configurable and can be set up for activation and presence detection in vehicle sensing applications. The LZR-H100 is an effective alternative to induction loops and is housed in an IP65 rated enclosure, further ensuring its performance in outdoor environments. Please note that unlike other BEA sensors where use of programming remote control is optional, it is required to program this unit.
• Dual relay activation
Two relays allow for activation via motion or presence
• Effective alternative to loop detectors
Ideal for applications where cutting ground for loops is prohibited, impossible or expensive
• Trajectory Detection
Ability to detect vehicle trajectory during approach and departure
• Reliable and constant detection
Time-of-Flight presence-based opto-electronic sensor ensures accurate and immediate detectionRetail Price - $1570 DoorSensors.com Price - $1184

BEA’s LZR-Widescan is a LASER-based, time-of- flight sensor used for motion, safety and presence detection in a variety of industrial door applications. This all-in-one solution offers the benefits of activation and safety, while reducing installation time. This NEMA 4 rated sensor creates a volumetric detection area by generating seven angled LASER curtains. It has the ability to detect objects based on direction, speed, object size and height. The LZR-Widescan detection field operates independent of ground conditions, allowing for superior functionality in harsh environments. (10LZRWIDESCAN)
• Ideal for replacing costly / labor-intensive induction loop and pull-cord solutions
• Promotes energy savings by reducing false detections / unnecessary door cycling, helping to regulate HVAC
• Virtual pull-cord function can differentiate between pedestrian and vehicle traffic and can provide pulse-on-stop activation
• Two visible LASER alignment spots ensure accurate pattern placementRetail Price - $1600 DoorSensors.com Price - $1062

The DH100 is a combination 2-row motion, 3-row presence sensor designed to provide both activation and safety protection for automatic sliding & folding doors in a single device. The DH100 is based upon the most reliable active infrared (AI) technology available—Floor Reflection Method (FRM). With FRM-AI up to 40 individual detection zones (floor points) are precisely reflected off of the floor in a rectangular pattern meeting and exceeding ANSI A156.10 guidelines. The DH100 provides motion detection as far as 7 feet (2.2m) from the door while providing a dense zone of presence detection in close to the door. With a sensing area made up of 40 separate detection zones, the DH100 provides the highest density infrared setting area available for combination motion and presence detection.

AAADM Inspection
Automatic door systems should be checked annually by an inspector who has been certified by the American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers. Through that annual inspection, the door system can be checked for compliance with the latest industry standards. Also, automatic door systems should be given a daily safety check by premises owners. The American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers provides details on how to conduct a daily safety check. Premises owners can use this guide to train or retrain employees to perform the daily safety checks properly. That helps assure safe operation of automatic doors. Additionally, all new sensors on pedestrian openings should also be properly adjusted by an AAADM certified inspector. If you are not a reseller or AAADM Certified, please contact us and we can provide you a list of local AAADM certified inspectors who can accurately make these adjustments to your new sensor(s). When properly installed, inspected annually by AAADM certified inspectors and safety-checked daily by premise owners, automatic doors consistently provide safe, convenient access for everyone.
